Terms of Service

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter this agreement. You are responsible for accurate account information, protecting your sign-in methods, and activity performed through your account. Notify us promptly if you believe the account has been compromised. One person or organization may not use multiple accounts to evade plan, rate, or abuse limits.

The service

ViewParquet is a browser-based data viewer and DuckDB SQL workbench. Local mode works without an account and processes supported device files in the browser. Optional Cloud services include private file copies, cross-device projects, Cloud-synced conversations, managed AI, and metered Fargate query execution. Features, model providers, limits, and previews can change as the product develops.

Cloud is not a backup service or system of record. Maintain independent copies of important files, SQL, and results. Local operation depends on your browser, available device resources, and browser storage.

Your data and permission to process it

You retain ownership of files, prompts, SQL, messages, and other content you provide. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive right to host, copy, transmit, process, and delete that content only as needed to operate, secure, and support the service according to your settings and our Privacy Policy. This permission ends when the content is deleted, subject to legal obligations and backup expiry.

We do not use Cloud files, prompts, conversation content, SQL, or result values to train AI models. BYOK providers process requests under your separate provider agreement; managed AI is restricted to reviewed Zero Data Retention routes.

You confirm that you have all rights and permissions necessary to process the data and to send any selected context to AI or other providers. Do not upload regulated, confidential, export-controlled, or highly sensitive data unless you have assessed the service and have an appropriate written agreement.

AI and Cloud queries

AI output and generated SQL may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsafe for a particular use. Review queries, assumptions, and results before relying on them. ViewParquet validates Cloud execution as read-only and applies resource limits, but you remain responsible for deciding what to run and share.

BYOK usage is governed by your agreement with the provider you configure and is billed by that provider. Managed AI routes through OpenRouter using eligible Zero Data Retention providers. Model availability, pricing, quality, and routing can change without notice. We may remove a model that no longer supports required tools, privacy controls, reliability, or plan economics.

Cloud queries consume the included cost-weighted allowance after a worker starts. Validation and launch failures do not consume allowance. A cancelled, failed, or timed-out task can consume its actual billable runtime because infrastructure has already been provisioned. Per-query and monthly hard limits apply.

Subscriptions, payments, and credits

Polar acts as Merchant of Record for self-serve purchases and handles checkout, payment processing, tax calculation, invoices, refunds, and payment-method data. Your checkout displays the charged currency, price, billing period, and tax before confirmation. Marketing conversions into another currency are estimates only; the checkout total controls.

Paid plans renew monthly until cancelled. Upgrades can take effect immediately with proration; downgrades and cancellations normally take effect at the next renewal, as shown before confirmation. Access remains available through the paid period unless the account is suspended for abuse, fraud, or legal reasons. Failed or past-due payments can restrict Cloud features.

Managed-AI top-ups are one-time purchases. Unless checkout states otherwise, the usable balance is 90% of the pre-tax amount minus USD $0.50, reflecting payment, tax-administration, and service costs. The app explains this formula before opening checkout. Purchased credits do not expire while the account is active, have no cash value, are not transferable, and are consumed after the included monthly AI allowance. Refund eligibility is governed by mandatory consumer law, Polar's checkout terms, and whether credits have already been used.

Plan limits and fair use

Current storage, per-file, managed-AI, Cloud-query, concurrency, result, and rate limits appear on the pricing page or in the app. Allowances are cost-weighted rather than promises of a fixed number of requests. We can temporarily reduce abusive traffic or enforce reasonable technical limits to protect customers, security, and service availability. We will not create automatic usage overages without your explicit purchase.

Acceptable use

You must not use the service to:

• Violate law, sanctions, privacy, intellectual-property, or third-party rights
• Upload malware, stolen credentials, unlawfully obtained data, or content you cannot process
• Probe, bypass, or defeat authentication, isolation, billing, rate limits, or security controls
• Interfere with the service or use automation that materially degrades it for others
• Resell or provide account access without a written enterprise agreement
• Use AI output as the sole basis for high-impact legal, medical, employment, credit, or safety decisions

Good-faith security research reported privately under our Security policyis not treated as abusive.

Suspension, cancellation, and deletion

You can cancel a subscription through the billing portal and delete Cloud files, chats, or the account through Settings. Confirmed account deletion immediately revokes a linked ViewParquet subscription before ending account access. Cloud-object removal is retried if the storage provider is temporarily unavailable, so recurring billing is not orphaned and a provider outage cannot keep the account active. Deletion does not automatically create a prorated refund; mandatory consumer rights and Polar's checkout terms still apply. Contact support if cancellation cannot be confirmed or you need an erasure request handled separately.

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, security risk, fraud, unlawful use, non-payment, or conduct that threatens other users. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to export data. Retention and deletion periods are described in the Privacy Policy.

Third-party services and availability

Parts of the service depend on AWS, Supabase, Vercel, Polar, OpenRouter, model providers, Sentry, Featurebase, and identity providers. Their outages, changes, and terms can affect functionality. We may modify, pause, or discontinue a feature; local viewing is designed to remain available when optional Cloud providers are unavailable, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Warranties and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness, non-infringement, accuracy, or availability. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or business interruption. Our aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of USD $100 or the amount you paid us for the service during the 12 months before the event. This cap does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited, including fraud, wilful misconduct, or certain consumer rights.

Business indemnity

If you use the service for a business, you will defend and indemnify Kaladev against third-party claims resulting from your unlawful content, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person's rights, except to the extent caused by our own breach or misconduct.

Governing law and changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts with jurisdiction over Kaladev's registered office have jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections and rights to bring a claim in another forum. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues. We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, reorganization, or transfer of the service.

We may update these Terms. Material changes affecting paid customers will be communicated through the service or account email and will apply prospectively from the stated effective date.
